Writing

Welcome, reader! Would you care to sample some of my writing? Here you will find a non-fiction paper and a fantasy short story to give you a taste of my style. If you would like to read more, check out my blog, or sign up for my newsletter, where I occasionally share short stories that are not available elsewhere.

Not Okay

The full title of this piece is Not Okay: Reflections on Homosexuality and the Church from a Church-Raised Woman. It’s part memoir, part research paper, and part persuasive essay. In it, I reflect on the conservative Christian context I grew up in and how I went from non-affirming to affirming. I present information on an affirming interpretation of the Bible, as well as evidence of a culturally-significant mistranslation. I also argue that the Church's homophobia is harmful and wrong.

I wrote this in 2026, primarily to open up a conversation with some relatives of mine, but I wanted to share it here in case anyone else is interested. You can download the pdf here.

Sheep Magic

Sheep Magic is a short story I originally wrote back in 2013 (I think?). It tells the story of a highland mage who is traveling the lowlands in search of some lost sheep. It’s fun and whimsical and the first story I ever had professionally edited. You can download the pdf here.
